The Blair High School tennis team earned three match wins Monday during a home dual with Ralston.
While the Rams used its top players for both scored varsity singles and doubles matches, coach David Christensen spread his student-athletes out across the nine overall matchups. Bears Jo Inget and Kayleia Chesson earned a No. 2 doubles win, 9-7.
In unscored singles matches, meanwhile, BHS' Lissy Spangler and Josie Kros secured wins. Spangler won 8-4, while Kros' victory came by an 8-6 tally.
“Lissy had a solid showing and Josie hasn't lost a singles match all year yet,” Christensen said.
The Bears' Ally Sullivan and Abby Leggott nearly pulled out a win at No. 1 doubles, too, but fell 9-8. Hannah Heuton and Roslyn Solano also fell in doubles play, but by an 8-3 score.
The home team's Angel Roehrs, Hadyn Ferguson, Sullivan and Hannah Gross also fell short in singles competition against Ralston. Gross lost just 8-6, while Sullivan dropper her match 8-4.
BHS was set to compete Thursday in Fremont, too, before today's varsity quadrangular on the Rams' home courts. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
