Waverly matchup called off

The Blair High School tennis team was supposed to open its week Monday and Tuesday with scheduled duals against Ralston and Waverly.
Instead, the Bears only played once due to a weather cancellation.
On Monday, though, coach David Christensen's team lost 3-2 to the Rams. Abi Lundberg won her No. 1 singles match on the road, 8-2, while Leah Chance and Shelby Wolff earned a No. 2 doubles victory, 8-4.
Otherwise, Ralston won in the scored matchups. It took 8-4 and 8-0 singles wins against Tailyn Anderson and Roslyn Solano, respectively.
“Roslyn went against their best girl at the No. 3,” Christensen said. “Super proud of her.”
The next day, however, BHS' Eastern Midlands Conference dual against the Waverly Vikings was called off. Weather concerns in the area kept the Bears from competing. They were scheduled to compete Wednesday and Thursday before next Tuesday's dual at Elkhorn.
