Blair Little League teams end year at state

Majors go 1-2, Minors 0-2

A pair of Blair Little League teams capped their seasons last Saturday and Sunday at the state tournament in Kearney.
The Major All-Stars went 1-2, finishing up on Sunday, while the Minors finished 0-2 Saturday.
The Blair Majors opened with a 4-2 victory against Grand Island before Saturday's 5-1 loss to Keystone Little League sent them into an elimination game against Gretna. Gretna won that contest 14-7.
The Blair Minors, meanwhile, dropped back-to-back games to Grand Island and Keystone. They lost the opener 10-1 before a 15-0 loss ended their season.
Tim Lantry, Sean Baker and Cory Nixon coached the Majors in Kearney, while Steve Hansen, James Kruse and Chris Casey led the Minors squad.
Blair Little League played its city championship games July 1. The Rockies team won the Minors division, while the Twins took the Majors crown.
