The Blair High School girls wrestling team went just 2-7 in contested varsity matches Tuesday, dropping a 44-24 dual at Columbus Lakeview.
While the Bears' Kara Rodriguez and Siena Smith earned six team points apiece by forfeit, just Emma Himes and Emma Belnog secured wins with their work on the mat. Himes topped Lakeview 100-pounder Suleima Gomez by decision, 12-5, while Belnog bested Karlie Pelc at 130 pounds — 14-7.
The Bears, however, were more successful in junior varsity matches. Sadie Madsen, Vivianne Shelton and Alisson Romero all secured victories, according to results on trackwrestling.com.
Coach Terry Bellamy's squad was scheduled to compete again Thursday in Fairbury and will next wrestle after the NSAA Moratorium on Dec. 30 at Conestoga.

Boys dual rescheduled
The BHS boys were scheduled to wrestle at Lakeview on Tuesday, too, but the dual was postponed.
The Bears and Vikings will now compete against one another Jan. 14 at 6 p.m.
Blair is scheduled back in action today, though. The annual Flatwater Fracas in Grand Island begins at 9:30 a.m. on mats inside the Heartland Events Center with duals continuing Saturday at 9:30 a.m., too.
