Blair girls win Wahoo XC Invite

Schrick adds another 1st-place finish

Chloe Schrick is 2-for-2.
The Blair High School junior won her second-straight cross-country meet to start the season Thursday, besting the field at the Wahoo Invitational. She was first, while Dawson Fricke led the Bears' boys squad with a second-place finish for the second-straight meet.
Altogether, the BHS girls earned first with five top-15 performances, while the boys were second to Elkhorn Mount Michael with six.
Schrick led the way, finishing her 5 kilometers in 20:35.68 — more than 22 seconds better than second-place Olivia Lawrence of Plattsmouth. Next up, Hailey Amandus, Kaitlyn Amandus and Allie Czapla claimed sixth, seventh and eight, respectively.
Sophia Baedke and Emily Lamoureux were 14th and 17th, too.
Fricke, meanwhile, finished less than 12 seconds behind first-place AJ Raszler of Platteview, stopping the clock in 17:12.31. Nick Wayman, a Blair senior, was ninth, while Nolan Slominski and Zyler Wyman were 10th and 12th, respectively.
The Bears' Calin O'Grady was 14th and Zac Keeling finished 15th.
In the boys' junior varsity race, BHS' Ted Lueders and Peter Clarke claimed first and third, respectively. Jade Wickwire, Addie Sullivan, Caitlyn Haggstrom and Lainey Bilau earned first through fourth in the girls' race, while Allie Dingfield, Bailey Dingfield and Trinity Back were fifth through eighth.

Otte runners compete, too
Members of the Otte Blair Middle School Running Club also competed in Wahoo on Thursday.
Isaac Field led the boys with a third-place finish in 9:54.87 over 2,000 meters, while Bella Matney led the girls with a 21st-place finish in 13:05.2.

Blair cross-country
