The Blair High School tennis team played back-to-back days at Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln on Monday and Tuesday.
Coach David Christensen's lineup first competed during the Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) Championships before the Lincoln Pius X Invite the next morning.
Angela Roehrs earned the Bears' best conference finish Monday. The No. 1 singles player went 2-3, taking eighth overall. She beat Ariel Crawford of Bennington first, 8-4, before a second-round loss to Gretna East's Zone Katsavelis, who went onto win the bracket.
Roehrs bounced back from her loss and topped Gretna's Kyler Wolff by an 8-5 score before eventually dropping the eighth-place matchup to Lincoln Northwest's Kailee Rowland.
BHS' No. 1 doubles team earned an EMC win, too. Abby Leggott and Ally Sullivan started play with an 8-6 victory against Elkhorn's Emmy McElhose and Angela Zhang.
From there, though, the Blair duo lost two straight to fall out of the top eight.
Roslyn Solano, Hannah Heuton and Lissy Spangler competed in Coach Christensen's lineup Thursday, too, but combined to go 0-4.
Solano lost a pair of No. 2 singles matches 8-0 and 8-2, respectively, while Heuton and Spangler went 0-2 in No. 2 doubles play. The pairing fell 8-6 to a Norris duo and 8-4 to two Waverly Viqueens.
On Tuesday, BHS went 1-2 in duals during the Pius X Invite, taking sixth overall. The Bears swept Wilbur-Clatonia, 5-0, for their victory.
Solano and the doubles team of Jo Inget and Hadyn Ferguson both went 2-1 during the day of play in Lincoln. Roehrs was 1-2, while the teams of Leggott and Sullivan, and Heuton and Spangler, earned the same record in doubles play.
