Sebastian Hall scored the Blair boys soccer team's first goal of The Ei8hts Tuesday High School Summer League Tournament, but it wasn't the squad's last at the CHI Health MultiSport Complex in La Vista.
The Bears started the offseason's tourney play with a 4-2 victory against Elkhorn South Gold and will next compete against Omaha Skutt on Tuesday during the quarterfinals. Victor Hernandez scored twice after Hall against the Storm before Tannon Bellamy notched the BHS lineup's fourth goal overall. Goalkeeper Luke Donner, meanwhile, earned the win between the pipes.
Blair has kept its soccer skills fresh during The Ei8hts league across multiple summers now. The varsity squad started play June 10 and collected a 7-3 record during regular season play, outscoring its opposition 55-31.
Hernandez, Cole Baker, McKoy Kosch, DJ Farrar, Jake Baker, Donner, Hayden Olsen, Drew Wulf, Bellamy, Isaac Field and Lane Christensen all competed against Elkhorn South Gold during the tourney opener.
On Thursday, however, a second Blair team was set to start and complete its Ei8hts Tournament, too. It had compiled a 2-6-2 record going into the summer league's postseason.
