The Elkhorn boys soccer team quickly turned a 1-0 halftime advantage into a 4-0 lead Tuesday at Blair's Krantz Field.
Coach Peter Massa's Bears scored two of their own goals down the stretch, but it wasn't enough as the Antlers earned a 4-2 victory. They improved to 10-3, while BHS dropped to 5-8 at the conclusion of its home finale.
The Bears next play Saturday during the first round of the Class B Subdistrict 2 Tournament. They play No. 1 Bennington at 10 a.m. on the Badgers' home pitch.
Against Elkhorn, Coach Massa's squad allowed just one first-half goal. Midway through the second 40 minutes, though, it trailed by four scores.
Sebastian Hall cut into Blair's 4-0 deficit with a long goal, sending the ball through the air and across the goal line. With just 18 minutes left, though, the Bears were unable to come all the way back even as Tommy Scott tallied his own goal in the final minutes.
