Blair boys soccer drops 5-0 home match

Bears are 4-6 overall after shutout

The Blair High School boys soccer team failed to score a goal for the first time since March 31 on Monday at Krantz Field.
The Bears' third home loss of the season came to Class B No. 10 Gretna East, 5-0. The Griffins improved to 5-4 with the win, while coach Peter Massa's team dropped to 4-6.
BHS held East without a goal for the first 30 minutes of Monday's match, but allowed two during the last 10 of the first half. The Griffins added three scores during the second 40 minutes, too, with Casey Givens finishing with a team-high two goals.
The Bears didn't score Monday, but they've produced 17 goals this season. Drew Wulf and Victor Hernandez are the team leaders with six apiece, according to stats posted to maxpreps.com.
BHS was scheduled to play at No. 1 Bennington on Thursday and next competes during the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament, which is set to begin Monday. Official matchups and start times were unavailable as of press time.
