Blair boys basketball drops Seward game

Bluejays claim 62-47 win

The Blair High School boys basketball team dropped to 9-9 Saturday with a 62-47 home loss to the Seward Bluejays.
Coach Chris Whitwer's Bears fell behind 17-11 during the first period, were trailing 29-20 at halftime and dropped even further behind during the 17-10 third in the Jays' favor. The visiting team improved to 9-10 overall with the win.
Brevin Leggott, meanwhile, led BHS with 17 points in defeat. The freshman guard scored seven during the final period, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Leggott's classmate, Kalan Steinbeck, added 12 points, while senior Easton Bosanek had six, too.
Tresten Hass and Jack Vyhnalek, however, led Seward with 46 combined points. Hass scored 25 and Vyhnalek totaled 21 to propel the Bluejays to a 15-point victory.
Blair next competes 7:15 p.m. today at Gretna East.
