Blair basketball postpones Harlan games to Friday

Blair High School's planned basketball games in Harlan, Iowa, were postponed.
Blair Community Schools called off school due to extreme cold Tuesday, which forced the games to be rescheduled. The reserve boys, junior varsity and varsity games  will all be played today with the varsity girls game starting at 6 p.m. before the boys' matchup.
As of Tuesday, the BHS girls were ranked No. 8 in Class B by the Omaha World-Herald. Coach Aschoff's team is 7-5 with wins against 10-2 No. 10 Omaha Gross, 10-1 No. 3 Waverly and 9-4 No. 9 Norris. The Bears haven't lost a game to a team with a record worse than 9-4.
Senior University of Nebraska-Kearney recruit Addie Sullivan is Blair's leading scorer, according to stats uploaded to maxpreps.com. She is averaging 12.9 points per outing, while Kate Wulf scores 8.4 and Cadence Field is producing a 6.9 average during her ninth-grade season.
The Blair boys, meanwhile, were 5-6 as of Tuesday. They are 2-3 in 2025 with losses to Hastings, No. 8 Bennington and No. 1 Norris, but also wins against 7-7 Plattsmouth and 6-7 Gretna.

BHS was set to play varsity games in Crete on Thursday and next competes today in Harlan and then Tuesday at Lincoln Northwest. Varsity games in Lincoln start at 5:30 p.m.
