The Blair High School girls wrestling program is unbeaten in Eastern Midlands Conference Tournaments.
For the second-straight year, the second-year Bears won the event Saturday, besting the scoring lineups of Elkhorn, Bennington, Waverly and Lincoln Northwest at home. Coach Terry Bellamy's victorious roster notched 189 team points, topping the second-place Antlers by 86.
Seven Blair wrestlers won their weight classes during the championship effort. Senior Savanah Roan was the busiest, claiming three wins at 130 pounds with three pins.
Katie and Ali Wheeler won two matches apiece Saturday, too. The 110- and 120-pounders each earned two falls.
Bears Riley Martin (100 pounds), Jo Inget (140) and Madi James (145), meanwhile, needed just a win apiece to secure top finishes atop their weight classes. Martin pinned Ella Japp of Elkhorn, Inget pinned the Antlers' Sydney Leinen and James bested Norris' Maryn Strunk in 1:54.
Kalli Jordan, however, won her 190-pound weight class without wrestling as she was the only competitor on the bracket.
In addition to their teammate's first-place finishes, BHS' Isabella Matney, Karlie Dewitt-Dodd and Jaslyn Raymond earned silver medals during the conference tournament. Taryn Bellamy, Maia Opetaia-Swope and Reata Malmberg, meanwhile, took third as Ella Andahl claimed fourth.
The Bears next wrestle 9:30 a.m. Saturday during a subdistrict tournament at West Point-Beemer High School.

The Bears won a pair of road duals Thursday, too.
Competing in Gretna, coach Bellamy's lineup beat the Dragons 60-9 and Millard West 45-23. Dewitt-Dodd, Inget, James, Katie Wheeler and Ali Wheeler all earned pins against Gretna. Inget's took the least amount of time — 30 seconds — while Katie Wheeler finished her 110-pound match in 32.
Matney, Roan and James earned contested victories during the tighter dual with the Class A Wildcats. Matney and Roan notched pins, while James won her 145-pound match by 6-3 decision.
