The Blair baseball team started fast and easily dispatched South Sioux City (SSC) on Tuesday at Vets Field.
The Bears led 4-0 through one inning and finished off the Cardinals by run-rule, 12-0, in just five frames. Coach John Roan's team improved to 7-11 with the win, while SSC fell to 3-13.
Brady Brown scored BHS' first run of the first inning on Dex Larsen's RBI triple. Shea Wendt's run-scoring double then pushed across Larsen before Morgan Rump added an RBI single.
The Bears' advantage reached four runs when Rump scored on a failed pick-off attempt.
Overall, Larsen was 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Brown, Wendt, Rump, Canton Lippincott and J'Shawn Unger pushed across runs, too.
Unger was also Blair's winning pitcher, throwing all five innings without allowing a run or hit. He struck out six SSC batters, surrendering just three walks.
