Blair High School boys golf coach Ross Udey left Northridge Country Club of Friday with the second-place Bears.
“Not a bad afternoon,” he stated in an email, sharing results from the Tekamah-Herman-hosted, nine-hole triangular. Elkhorn North finished first with just 157 strokes, while Blair was second with 192 — 17 less than the Tigers.
The three schools met one day after their originally scheduled date due to weather concerns Thursday. Twenty-four hours later, Tekamah's Brody Rogers shot the triangular's low round of 37 strokes, while the Wolves' Tyler Nietfeldt and Nate Kudma finished with 38 and 39 swings, respectively.
Blair's best nine-hole score belonged to Jack Schroeder, who carded a 43. Nolan Wolfe added 48 swings toward the varsity score, while Aaron Hinman had 50 and Degan Dresden finished with 51 strokes.
Tyler Wolsmann had 60 swings, too.
The Bears' junior varsity lineup, meanwhile, finished second to North, too, finishing with 246 strokes. Rylan Olsen had just 48, while Justin Kramer shot a 60 and Peyton Briggs finished with 68 swings. Wyatt Gunderson carded 70, too.
While JV lineups were set to play Northridge and Platteview Country Club on Monday, the BHS varsity lineup gets back to the course today at 9 a.m. The Bears are set to play 18 holes at Tiburon Golf Club during the Omaha Skutt Invitational.
