The Blair High School volleyball team officially opened its 2022 fall season Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 loss at Hastings.
The Tigers won the competitive match 25-23, 25-12 and 25-19.
Coach Becca Mellema's team held advantages on the floor, notably during both the first and third sets. It led the first 22-20 before Hastings battled back and then earned an early lead during the third before the Tigers ended the match in their favor.
The Bears next play today at Malcolm. The reserves' match starts at 5 p.m. before the junior varsity and varsity bouts at 6 and 7, respectively.
BHS doesn't play its first official home match until Sept. 6 against Waverly.
