Bears 6th, Chaffee 11th at EMC golf meet

BHS finishes with 361 strokes

The Blair boys golf team earned sixth out of six teams Tuesday during the Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) Tournament at Pioneers Golf Course in Lincoln.
Coach Ross Udey's Bears finished with 361 strokes, three more than fifth-place Elkhorn. Norris, meanwhile, earned first with just 294 swings over 18 holes.
Easton Chaffee shot a BHS-low 82, earning 11th with 11 more strokes than the first-place Titan — Carson Thurber. The Bear took 42 swings on the front nine holes and 40 on the nine back in toward the clubhouse.
Senior Luke Ladwig, meanwhile, carded 92 strokes to claim 24th in the EMC individual standings. Classmate Adam Grote shot a 93 and Tyler Lantry finished with 94 swings. Rylan Blattert added 104 as well.
Blair was set to play Wednesday and Thursday, and next competes Monday during a triangular at River Wilds Golf Club. The Bears are to host Elkhorn and Fremont with a 4 p.m. tee time.
