Coach Michaela Curran's Arlington cross-country team dominated its season-opening meet Thursday.
The Eagles earned both team titles during the Omaha Concordia Invitational, besting the second-place Cornerstone Christian boys and Concordia girls. Defending state champion Keelianne Green and Hailey O'Daniel claimed first and second in one 5-kilometer race, while Nolan May was second and Kevin Flesner was fourth in the other.
Green and O'Daniel clocked in at 21:09.47 and 22:12.86, respectively, while May crossed the finish line at 17:57.13 and Flesner 18:30.04.
AHS' Luke Hammang (sixth), Kolby Tighe (seventh), John Morrison (eighth) and Dallin Franzluebbers (11th) all finished in the top half of the 27-runner boys race as well. Whitney Wollberg (eighth), Brynn Eckhart (10th), Kelise Cook-Krivohlavek (14th) and Kynlea Kleveland (17th) pushed the Eagles to the girls team title, too.
In addition, Arlington's Brayden Fuchs and Luke Sharp finished second and third in the junior varsity race, respectively. Willa Wollberg and Ethan Hilgenkamp picked up junior high wins as well.
Coach Curran's team next hosts its home invite. It begins with 4 p.m. junior high races Thursday at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
