The Arlington Junior Legion baseball team finished fourth during the Ralph Bishop League (RBL) Tournament on Saturday in West Point.
The Post 71 Eagles, who won their tourney opener with Columbus Lakeview on June 27, lost the third-place game to Battle Creek, 12-7. They played an even first inning and led 5-3 after two, but surrendered a seven-run third frame to the eventual third-place Post 75 squad.
The Arlington Juniors, meanwhile, missed their chance to play for the RBL Tournament title June 30 when they lost a nine-inning game to Pender, 7-5. The Eagles fell behind 4-0 at the Washington County Fairgrounds, but scored four straight runs to force extras.
Dallin Franzluebbers plated Post 71's first run during the bottom half of the fourth frame with a single. A three-run bottom of the sixth then drew the teams even.
After a scoreless eighth inning, Pender scored three times during the top of the ninth. Arlington responded with one of their own on Andy Misfeldt's RBI single, but it wasn't enough as it fell by two.
Tyler Hawley and Franzluebbers led the Eagles in defeat, each going 2-for-4 at the plate. Hawley doubled and scored a run, while Franzluebbers registered two RBIs and his own run scored.
The Post 71 Juniors are tentatively scheduled to begin Class B Area 3 Tournament play today in Blair. They'll contend with Fort Calhoun, Elkhorn Mount Michael, Springfield, Wahoo and Waterloo-Valley for a state tournament bid there at Vets Field.

Seniors play Wahoo
The Arlington Senior Legion baseball team played Tuesday in Wahoo. The Eagles won 12-10 with Kaden Pittman earning the pitching win in relief of Zach Vanek.
Trevor Denker hit 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs, while Pittman had three hits and Nick Smith had three RBIs.
Logan Kaup scored three runs for coach Ed Menking's Eagles, while Braden Monke touched home plate twice.
The Post 71 Seniors are tentatively scheduled to return to the field Monday against Blair.
