Arlington, Fort Calhoun junior high teams meet on court

Basketball season continues through December

The Arlington and Fort Calhoun junior high boys basketball teams met for three games Tuesday at Arlington High School.
The Eagles participated in A, B and C-team games for the first time this season, while the Pioneers were playing their second games after opening the schedule Monday at Ashland-Greenwood.
Arlington was set to play its second game Thursday and will compete at Yutan next Tuesday. From there, the Eagles will play home games Nov. 17, Nov. 22, Nov. 29, Dec. 5, Dec. 6 and Dec. 12.
Each night's home contests start at 5 p.m. for coaches Connor Eurek and Landon Walkenhorst. They have 32 Arlington seventh- and eighth-graders on their roster.
Fort Calhoun, meanwhile, will play its third set of games 4:30 p.m. next Tuesday at Tekamah-Herman. The Pioneers' first home game is Nov. 17 before others Nov. 21, Nov. 22, Dec. 1 and Dec. 13. The 5 p.m. Dec. 1 game is against Arlington again before a return trip to AHS on Dec. 6.
Calhoun coaches Chris Eastman, Greg Byelick and Tyler Jorgensen have 43 players on their roster.
