The Arlington boys basketball team exploded for 88 points Saturday, routing Wisner-Pilger on the road, 88-40.
The Eagles outscored the Gators 24-5 during the first period and notched 30 more points in the second. The offensive effort led coach Jake Polk's team to its first win since Dec. 14.
Senior Trent Koger led AHS with 29 points in three quarters of play, while Oliver Ladehoff totaled 25 before halftime with four 3-point makes. Luke Sharp scored in double figures as well, finishing the road game with 10 — one more than Jack Rosenbalm.
Arlington next plays 7:15 p.m. today at Omaha Gross.
No. 6 squad beats Eagles
Arlington's second game of the Lincoln Lutheran Holiday Tournament on Dec. 31 went about well as its first.
After a 45-point loss to Platteview a day earlier, the Eagles dropped an 83-48 game to Class C1 No. 6 Holdrege during the third-place game. The Dusters led 23-7 after one period and never looked back.
Ladehoff scored 22 points to pace AHS, but both Garret Johnson and Baron Medina scored more than 20 points to lead the victors.
Altogether, Holdrege had four players finish with double-figure point totals, while Koger was second on his Eagles squad with nine.
