Post 348 caps S.D. stay with win

The Fort Calhoun Senior Legion baseball team closed out its 2-2 Dakota Classic run in Harrisburg, S.D., with a win on Father's Day.
The Zig Drywall Pioneers beat the West Fargo (N.D.) Vets 7-4 on Sunday, improving to 8-11 overall this season. Colin Bolay earned the pitching win with seven strikeouts across three innings, while Declyn Otte earned a two-inning save with two Ks.
Offensively, Fort Calhoun's Josh Miranda went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Kenny Wellwood and Jordan Back added an RBI apiece, too, while both Sam Genoways and AJ Duros notched hits.
Post 348 was scheduled back in action Wednesday at Waverly before today's start to the Mike Collins Memorial Tournament at Elkhorn Mount Michael. The Pioneers play Laramie (Wyo.) first at noon.

Blair Seniors' game rained out
With an evening rain shower a near certainty, the Blair Legion baseball home games against Plattsmouth were postponed early Tuesday afternoon.
Coach James Bilslend shared the information with his his team just after noon. The Seniors were scheduled to play Wednesday at Mount Michael before today's 3 p.m. Dave Van Metre Tournament opener at Brown Park in Omaha.
The Blair Juniors, meanwhile, earned a 10-6 win Sunday on the Millard Sox Gold team's home field. The Bears jumped out to a 2-0 lead during the first inning and never trailed. They, too, were to play Wednesday and Thursday at Mount Michael and Malcolm, respectively.
