Her Arlington High School coaches called for a power half-nelson and Addyson Beam delivered Dec. 20 during the Wahoo Girls Wrestling Invitational.
The Eagle wrenched in the move and turned her quarterfinals opponent to her back, starting off what became a team-leading third-place result matched only by senior Kelise Krivohlavek. The pair pushed coach Layne Laaker's squad to an eighth-place finish during the Warriors' 21-team event.
Yutan earned first, while Columbus Lakeview secured second and West Point-Beemer finished third.
Beam, though, earned her individual third-place finish at 190 pounds with a 2-1 record. She pinned Norris' Londyn Youngs first in 37 seconds before adding a second pin against North Bend Central's Madilyn Reese in her final match of the day.
Krivohlavek, meanwhile, suffered her first loss of the season in Wahoo before ending her day with a 35-second pin in a third-place match. The 125-pound AHS standout earned falls during the first and second rounds, too, but fell short against Yutan's Aubrie Pehrson in the semifinals.
Eagles Rylie Kyllo and Callee Shearer earned fifth-place individual finishes during the Warriors' tourney as well. Kyllo was 4-1 at 115 pounds with three pins, while Shearer earned fifth at 130 with four wins, too. Shearer claimed her last victory by 16-0 technical fall.
Additionally, Sofie Lewis and Jaydin Allen of Arlington earned sixth Dec. 20. Lewis won three matches at 120 pounds with two losses, while Allen went 1-2 at 135.
