The Arlington track and field boys took third and the girls fifth Tuesday during the Columbus Lakeview Invite.
Coach Kyle Buckingham's Eagles earned four event wins toward those finishes, too. The boys claimed three, while the girls team secured a 3,200-meter relay win. Whitney Wollberg, Kelise Krivohlavek, Corinne May and Hailey O'Daniel claimed that victory in 10:13.22.
Senior Dallin Franzluebbers, meanwhile, won two events individually. He crossed the 400-meter dash finish line in 49.95 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 42.18.
AHS' Kolby Tighe secured a 1,600 run victory as well. He finished four laps on the Vikings' track in 4:47.5.
The Eagles next compete 10 a.m. Saturday during the Nebraska Capitol Conference meet at Conestoga.
AHS competes at Platteview
High School athletes only completed 29 of the 34 planned events April 24 at the Platteview Invite.
The track and field meet ended early due to storms rolling in overhead, leaving the Arlington Eagles fourth in the girls' standings and sixth on the boys' side. Hastings swept the team titles.
Wollberg (400-meter dash and pole vault), Franzluebbers (300 hurdles) and Hayley Arp (shot put) won events during the shortened meet. Wollberg, notably, won both the 400-meter dash in 1:01.31 and the pole vault with a 9-foot, 6-inch effort.
Franzluebbers, meanwhile, won the 300 hurdles in 42.05 seconds and Arp secured first in the shot put. The thrower's best effort was 38-2.
