The Arlington girls basketball team didn't suffer through a letdown after Saturday's Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament title win.
Instead, the Eagles beat the Fort Calhoun Pioneers for a second time in five days Tuesday, 63-37. The road win pushed their season record to 16-3, while FCHS dropped to 13-6 with its third straight loss.
AHS built a 13-7 lead through one period, led 32-18 at halftime and ultimately won by 26 after a 31-19 second half. Emme Timm led her team to its sixth-consecutive win with 18 points, while Britt Nielsen notched 16 and Macy Wolf scored 14.
Ansley Elofson led the Pioneers with 11 points, while Raeann Massey scored 10 and Maelie Nelson produced eight. Their team was scheduled to play Lincoln Christian at home Thursday and next competes 6 p.m. Tuesday at Nebraska City.
Arlington, meanwhile, was set to play Fremont Bergan on Thursday and next competes against Conestoga at 6 p.m. today at home.
