The Eagles' Troy Schlueter and Pioneers' Zach Byrd will share a sideline in 2026.
The Nebraska Shrine Bowl Executive Board recently announced the Arlington and Fort Calhoun High School football coaches as assistants for the 68th annual all-star game. It is June 6 in Kearney at the University of Nebraska-Kearney's Ron and Carol Cope Stadium. They will assist the North squad's head coach, Kameron Lenhart of Bennington, alongside North Platte's Kurt Altig, Raymond Central's Tony Kobza, Jim Clarkson of Clarkson-Leigh and the Badgers' Brandon Mimick.
The South team, meanwhile, will be coached by Seward's Jamie Opfer. His assistants will be Aaron Thumann of Bellevue East, Adams Central's Josh Lewis, Holdrege's Jake McLain, Mitch Shepherd of Thayer Central, Lincoln Northwest's Brian Lauck and the Bluejays' Wade Miller.
Well before they share a sideline, though, Schlueter and Byrd will stand on opposite sides of the field Aug. 29 when FCHS hosts AHS in a renewal of the Washington County rivalry.
