Washington County's high school wrestling season reset last Saturday when the Fort Calhoun girls competed in Tekamah after the holiday break.
Meets continued Monday and will today as wrestlers readjust after the five-day NSAA Moratorium last week.
Prior to the short period of inactivity, though, the Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association (NSWCA) updated it's rankings. They are noted below alongside pre-Christmas records for several notable Arlington Eagles, Blair Bears and Fort Calhoun Pioneers with more match wins than losses.
Blair Boys
Coach Erich Warner's Blair boys wrestling team was the eighth-ranked Class B dual lineup as of the most-recent NSWCA ratings.
Senior Hudson Loges is the Bears' most highly-touted grappler, coming in at No. 1 at 138 pounds. As of the Flatwater Fracas on Dec. 21, he was 21-1 this season.
Blaise Baughman, meanwhile, is rated No. 3 at 190 pounds by the NSWCA. He is 13-2 overall, according to trackwrestling.com.
Blair heavyweight Cornez Tucker Jr. is 14-7, too, while both Jaxon Logan (144 pounds) and Griffin Rosterman are 14-9, respectively.
At 165 pounds, Wyatt Loftis produced a 13-10 mark before Christmas, while Tannon Bellamy was 10-3 at 120. Evan Kuctha, Landon Bernasek and Lakodah McKinnis all earned seven wins across varsity and junior varsity matches prior to the holiday, too.
More Bears with winning marks include Isaak Schultz (6-1), Aaden Reinders (5-4), Louis Biffar (4-0), Tanner Leafty (4-2), Gavin Hammond (4-2), Carter Corbett (4-3), Michael Cleary (4-3), Mac Tupa (3-1), Isaiah Partida (3-2), Connor Morgan (2-0) and Tyce Craig-Larsen (2-1).
Blair Girls
Two of coach Terry Bellamy's BHS girls are ranked within the NSWCA Class A ratings.
Madi James, who was 16-1 before the break, is No. 4 at 140 pounds. Ali Wheeler, meanwhile, is No. 4 at 115 with a 10-5 mark.
Emma Belnog went 14-5 during the first section of the season at 130 pounds, while Emma Himes went 10-7 at 100. In the 115-pound weight class, Siena Smith is 10-8, while Kara Rodriguez is 9-7 at 145. Katie Wheeler, meanwhile, went 5-3 at 120 pounds.
Notably, Blair seniors Jo Inget and Jaslyn Raymond produced nine and eight wins prior to the holiday, respectively.
Fort Calhoun Boys
Merritt Olberding was the only Fort Calhoun boy ranked in the most-recently released NSWCA ratings.
Slotted as Class B's No. 3 wrestler at 113 pounds, the Pioneer put together an 8-2 record. TJ DeMilt, however, was 8-3 during the first month of the season at 165 pounds.
FCHS' Presley Olberding is 7-3 at 126, too, while Lucas DeMilt is 4-2 at 106 pounds.
Notably, Alex Schuler is 5-5 this season for Calhoun, which wrestles today at Omaha Creighton Prep.
Fort Calhoun Girls
The NSWCA lists Beckah Gossman as a Class B contender at 155 pounds. The Fort Calhoun girls' freshman started her prep career 6-0 this month, according to trackwrestling.com.
Ali Dill, meanwhile, is 6-2 at 130 pounds. Her teammate, Annaleigh McLaughlin, secured a winning record — 6-3 — at 110 pounds, too.
Arlington Boys
Coach Doug Hart's Arlington boys wrestling team has seven wrestlers with winning records going into 2025, though none of them are positioned in the NSWCA Class C rankings.
Braxton Soll is 3-0 in contested matches at 126 pounds, while Tanner Kyllo is 9-4 at 150. Cameron Hancock secured an 8-4 mark at 132 pounds, too, while Tate Johnnes — a 190-pounder — and Jake Flesner — a 120-pounder — are 7-4.
AHS' Stokely Lewis is 6-2 at 175, Zane Gerrish is 6-4 at heavyweight and Ben Flesner produced a 6-5 mark at 165 pounds, too.
Arlington Girls
Kelise Krivohlavek of the Arlington girls, ranked No. 10 in Class B's preseason ratings, is 10-1 at 125 pounds. She's No. 2 in the weight class.
Callee Shearer, meanwhile, put together a 12-3 mark before Christmas at 130 pounds. Rylie Kyllo also hit double-digit wins at 115, going 10-4 overall.
Sofie Lewis (9-3) and Addyson Beam (9-5) have nine wins apiece according to trackwrestling.com, while Dianna Flores is 8-4 for the Eagles. Ella Chamberlain is 6-3 at 145 pounds as well.
