Four Blair Youth Softball Association fields hosted the Gary Baker Invite last weekend.
Teams across three age groups competed May 20 through Sunday with six Washington County squads taking part.

11U Chaos goes 2-2 in 12U play
Two Blair teams played in opposite tournament pools in the age 12 and younger grouping.
The 11U Chaos-Greenough squad went 2-1, finishing second in Pool A. It lost to the Fremont Force 6-1 first, but rebounded with Saturday wins against the 45A Elite — 7-3 — and a Quakes team — 7-2.
In Sunday's championship bracket play, the Chaos dropped a 10-3 game to the Nebraska Edge-White squad, finishing 2-2.
The Blair Diamonds, meanwhile, went 0-3 in Pool B play, but won the consolation bracket with back-to-back victories. The Diamonds first beat the Nebraska Storm on Sunday, 10-3, before besting the 11U Quakes 4-1.
Prior to those games, Blair lost to the Edge-White (14-3), the Storm (9-5) and the 12U Quakes (11-2) during the BYSA event.

3 10U Chaos teams compete
After three Blair Chaos teams combined to go 1-8 in age 10 and younger pool play, the Chaos-Hall squad won the consolation bracket with two-straight wins Sunday at the Youth Sports Complex. It beat the Chaos-Wimer team 13-1 before stopping the Fremont Force's tourney run with a 6-4 win.
The Chaos-Hall team also topped a West Point Yellow squad 14-2 during Gary Baker Invite pool play.
The Chaos-Egan squad, meanwhile, finished 0-for-4 at home. Its closest games were a 10-5 loss to the Chaos-Wimer team and a 10-4 defeat to Prodigy Decker.
Lastly, the Wimer lineup beat the Egan squad, but also put up multiple runs against the NE Edge — a 10-4 loss — and the Nebraska Stealth — a 9-3 defeat — during its 1-4 weekend.

Arlington team goes 1-2
A 14U Arlington Eagles softball team went 1-2 last weekend during the Gary Baker Invite.
The Eagles bested a Nebraska Edge team 7-6 Saturday morning, but dropped an 8-3 contest with WDSA on May 20 before a 10-9 loss to the same team Sunday.
Arlington's 1-2 mark was good enough for third in the four-team tournament. The NE Storm went 3-0 to win, while WDSA was 2-1 and the Edge went 0-for-3.
