Blair High School's basketball teams faced a pair of fourth-ranked Eastern Midlands Conference foes on the road Tuesday night and lost.
The Class B No. 4 Waverly Viking boys beat the Bears 49-43, while the No. 4 girls won against BHS, 48-29.
The boys basketball game appeared to be going in Blair's way through three quarters. Coach Chris Whitwer's squad led 15-9 after one period, 27-20 after two and 37-32 after three.
The Vikings outscored the Bears 17-6 in the fourth period, however, pulling off the six-point win. Carter Gullion led the home team with a game-high 20 points, while freshman Bo Meier led BHS with 13, according to ESPN Lincoln 1480 AM.
The Blair girls' game was closer before Waverly's 14-3 fourth quarter, too. The Bears trailed just 23-19 at halftime and 34-26 after three periods.
