Four Blair High School football players performed at a Class B-1 All-District first-team level this past season.
Seniors Brock Templar, Thomas Chikos, Cornez Tucker Jr. and Cooper Sorensen all made the first team alongside Omaha Skutt Skyhawks, Bennington Badgers, Elkhorn Antlers and Elkhorn North Wolves. The honorees were officially released late Nov. 26 after the Skyhawks bested the Badgers during the Class B state championship game in Lincoln.
According to statistics posted at maxpreps.com, Templar ran for 902 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2024 before a knee injury sidelined him for the rest of the Bears' campaign. He also served as a key contributor defensively.
Chikos and Tucker Jr., meanwhile, both served as offensive and defensive linemen for coach Bryan Soukup's team. Both players were multiple-year contributors.
Sorensen, however, made his first BHS starts at quarterback as a senior, earning first-team recognition. In seven games, he threw for 1,397 yards and 10 touchdowns, completing 71 percent of his 152 passes.
Seven Bears also earned B-1 All-District honorable mention in addition to the four first-team honorees. Keenan Wyman, Nelson Kosch and AJ Damme represented their senior class on the list, while Blaise Baughman and Hayden Daggett represented the juniors. Sophomores Andrew Smutny and Ty Tessendorf were also recognized.
Overall, Blair finished the fall season 2-7, securing victories against Lincoln Standing Bear and Gretna. Coach Soukup announced his resignation after the season, capping 25 years straight as a BHS football coach, including 11 as the head coach.
