The Fort Calhoun wrestling team finished sixth Saturday during the Bennington Invite with three finalists.
Pioneers Ely Olberding, Lance Olberding and Jesse Hartline earned second place on the Badgers' mats, falling in their bracket title matches at 113, 120 and 220 pounds, respectively.
Hartline earned FCHS' first win of the day, pinning Elkhorn South's Dylan Wilson at the 5-minute mark of their quarterfinals match. The Pioneer overwhelmed the Storm wrestler, leaning on the 220-pounder before turning him for the finish.
Hartline then won his second match by 3-0 decision before David City Aquinas' Coy Meysenburg bested him in the final.
Ely Olberding, meanwhile, opened with a 4-1 semifinals win before dropping his title match to Columbus' Blake Cerny.
A Discoverer, Adrian Bice, also bested Lance Olberding in the 120 final. To earn his spot, however, the FCHS grappler beat Elkhorn South's Mathew Parker by pin.
In addition to the finalists, the Pioneers' Clint Dierks claimed fourth at heavyweight despite weighing just 204 pounds. He defeated Boys Town's Hazakiah Williams in the consolation semifinals before dropping a third-place match to Bennington's Jake Stier.

FCHS faces Tigers in opener
The Pioneers traveled to Tekamah-Herman on Thursday for their season opener.
Though FCHS won 48-27 on the dual scoreboard, the Tigers won all four contested matches. Eight forfeits were the deciding factor.
The Pioneers' Owen Miller, John McKennan and Tristen Hansen were pinned by Tony Braniff, Logan Burt and Brady Braniff, respectively, while Grant Nixon lost a 4-1 decision to Tekamah's Dawson Schram.
