3 Eagles, 2 Pioneers earn All-NCC volleyball honors

Thayer-Mencke claims 1st-team recognition

Three Arlington Eagles and two Fort Calhoun Pioneers were honored recently with the release of the All-Nebraska Capitol Conference (NCC) teams.
The Pioneers' Emilee Thayer-Mencke was Washington County's headliner, securing first-team recognition. The only sophomore on the conference's first team finished the fall season with 248 kills, 38 ace serves, 46 blocks and 175 digs. She led her team in every category except blocks, finishing second.
FCHS' Sophie Weeks, meanwhile, earned All-NCC honorable mention along with the Eagles' Macy Wolf, Mylee Hadan and Peyton Timm. Weeks, a setter, finished the season with 371 set assists and 34 ace serves.
Wolf, however, produced a team-best 187 kills for AHS. She added 27 ace serves and 42 blocks, too, while Timm notched 106 kills, 43 aces and 268 digs during her senior season.
Hadan, the Eagles' libero, finished with a team-best 473 digs and added 25 aces.
Additionally, Yutan junior Mylee Tichota was announced as an All-NCC honorary captain alongside Raymond Central senior Quincy Cotter. Gabi Tederman and McKenna Jones (Yutan), Jamison Badje (Douglas County West) and Syracuse's Jayden Meyer also earned first-team recognition from the conference.
The NCC's second team was comprised of Conestoga's Maggie Fiene and Ava Tegels, DC West's Kiya Johnson, Savannah Masek of Raymond Central, Logan View's Neveah Vacha, Louisville's Kelsey Haynes and Bridget Donovan of Syracuse.
