Lincoln East won its duals with the Fremont High School swim team Monday, but three Washington County swimmers still earned first-place individual results for the Tigers.
Competing at the Dillon Family Aquatics Center, Blair student-athletes Ryleigh Schroeter, Jane Busboom and Kennedy Zehner all claimed FHS victories. The Spartans won the girls' team race 115-70, but Schroeter was first in the 100-yard butterfly event, clocking in at 1:02.67. She added a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:22.13), too.
Busboom, meanwhile, stopped the clock more than 4 seconds faster than the second-place swimmer in the 100-yard backstroke. The swimmer won the race in 1:00.51, while also earning second in the 50 freestyle. She was just 0.05 out of first.
Zehner notched her Tiger win in the 100 breaststroke, too, finishing the race in 1:15.15. She clocked in at 2:09.28 to take third in the 200 freestyle as well.
Collectively, Schroeter, Busboom and Zehner joined Alexis Rasmussen during a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, too. Fremont finished it in 1:57.13, besting East by nearly a full second.
Blair's LeLah Filows and Hannah Huenink added their own fourth-place relay finishes during Monday's dual, but secured the same finish individually. Filows was fourth in the 100 freestyle (1:11.08), while Huenink secured fourth in the 200 IM (2:47.34).
On the boys' side — a 114-60 East win — Jacob Hanson of Blair was second four times. Both of his Fremont relay teams earned runner-up finishes, while he also secured second in both the 100-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. The Tiger's free time of 50.19 seconds was just 0.07 off of first place, while his breaststroke effort — 1:03.49 — was just 0.4 out of the top spot.
Arlington diver Eli Hansen added his own second-place finish in the 1-meter event with a score of 131.65, while both AHS' Dathan Hansen and BHS' Mason Laue earned third in the 400 free relay with Eli Nelson and Garrett Nielsen.
Dathan Hansen added an individual fourth-place result in the 200 freestyle at 2:03.81, while Lau was fifth in the same race.
The Tigers next compete today and Saturday during the Lincoln High Invitational.
