Three Blair hunters completed the Nebraska Upland Slam during the 2024-25 hunting seasons, according to Nebraska Game & Parks.
Shannon Morrissey, Nick Muller and Travis VanHouten all harvested a sharp-tailed grouse, a greater prairie chicken, a ring-necked pheasant and a Northern bobwhite quail to complete the annual challenge. They were three of 130 hunters to finish the competition this year.
Tyler McGrady of Ragland, Alabama, meanwhile, was the Upland Slam's big winner in the prize drawing. After completing the slam across two trips through Nebraska, he was randomly selected to receive a Weatherby Orion 12-gauge shotgun.
Jim Sladky of Oxford, Larry Gathye Sr. of Omaha, Kearney's Brennan O'Connor and Adrielle Skinner of Lincoln were the other prize recipients.
Altogether, 831 hunters have participated across seven Upland Slam challenges dating back to 2018. Washington County's Jason Christiansen, Bryan Spilinek, Keith Kendrick and Kurt Doyle are past Slam finishers, too.
