Time for some more Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.
Seth Waters, Whitney Wollberg and Riley Yanak are the honorees.
Seth Waters, Fort Calhoun track and field: The Pioneer was apart of a school record effort and qualified for two state events during the district meet. Chris Post-Whiteowl, Merritt Olberding, Will Dennis and he set a new school mark in the 3,200-meter relay, stopping the clock in 8:20.94. Special mention goes to Eli Tinkham, who went 3-for-4 at the plate during FCHS’ state baseball opener.
Whitney Wollberg, Arlington track and field: The Eagle is a four-event state qualifier, who won the pole vault at districts as well as the 3,200-meter relay with Corinne May, Kelise Krivohlavek and Hailey O’Daniel. Special mention goes to O’Daniel, who also qualified for state in four events.
Riley Yanak, Blair Unified track and field: This Unified Bear is qualified for the state meet in two events — the 100-meter dash with Keenan Wyman, and the 400 relay with Wyman, Caden Finken and AJ Damme. He’s been among the Bears’ fastest Unified sprinters for years. Special mention goes to Hayden Daggett, a four-event state qualifier himself, as well as goalkeeper Brooklyn Schroeter, who made a big penalty kick save during the soccer team’s first state win in 24 years.
Thanks for reading, and please be ready for the last Athlete of the Week entry of the school year next Sunday.
