I let the NSAA State Wrestling Championships take care of my Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week selection process the past five days.
Kelise Krivohlavek, Hudson Loges and Beckah Gossman were their Washington County schools’ top finishers in Omaha.
Kelise Krivohlavek, Arlington wrestling: The 36-2 senior capped her prep wrestling career with a second-place finish at 120 pounds in Class B. At this point, she is Washington County’s most successful female wrestler ever with two state medals. Special mention goes to Jake Flesner, Braxton Soll and Tate Johannes for earning boys state wins in Omaha, too.
Hudson Loges, Blair wrestling: The now two-time state champion dominated the Class B 138-pound bracket, earning two pins and two technical falls. He’s a three-time medalist overall who ended his senior campaign 51-1. Special mention goes to Loges’ fellow BHS medalists Blaise Baughman, Ali Wheeler and Cornez Tucker Jr.
Beckah Gossman, Fort Calhoun wrestling: Most freshman wrestlers don’t earn third-place state finishes. Gossman did, capping the year 47-4 overall with four state wins in Class B. Special mention goes to her fellow FCHS medalists — Madi Larrick, Annaleigh McLaughlin and Merritt Olberding.
Thanks for reading. Congrats to every Washington County wrestler on a great five days at the CHI Health Center.
