It’s time to introduce our first Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week trio of 2025.
Are you ready?
The latest Washington County honorees are Cornez Tucker Jr., Kade Foy and Emme Timm.
Cornez Tucker Jr., Blair wrestling: The heavyweight was dominant during the Bears’ Border Brawl tournament Saturday, winning all five matches by pin. He also secured a win by fall Thursday in Underwood, Iowa, for an overall unbeaten start to the new year. Special recognition goes to his fellow Border Brawl champs — Landon Bernasek, Hudson Loges, Jaxon Logan and Carson Faue — as well as wrestler Emma Belong, who won her weight class at Conestoga earlier in the week.
Kade Foy, Fort Calhoun basketball: The Pioneers fell short in two games at the Blizzard Battle Holiday Tournament, but Foy shined. He scored new season highs in back-to-back games, 18 and 21 points, finishing with 39 total during the tourney. Special mention goes to wrestler Annaleigh McLaughlin, who went 3-0 during the 2 River Ruckus quadrangular Friday in Blair.
Emme Timm, Arlington basketball: The point guard led her Eagles to a 4-0 week, scoring 87 points across Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday victories. Her season-high 32 points against Wisner-Pilger came with a 15-for-17 showing from the foul line. Special mention goes to basketball player Oliver Ladehoff, who scored 22 points Tuesday and 25 on Saturday during an 88-40 win in Wisner.
Once again, Happy New Year. I look forward to the next big athletic successes of 2025.
