You know, I typically wouldn’t put out a Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week post in this situation.
Athletes from Blair and Fort Calhoun competed Saturday after the end of the NSAA Moratorium, but Arlington is still waiting on Monday to come around.
So, even though not everyone got involved, I’m still moving forward. Why?
Because it’s still the holiday season and the performances were worth it.
Congrats to Beckah Gossman and Aidan Slominski.
Beckah Gossman, Fort Calhoun wrestling: This 145-pound freshman led the Pioneers at Tekamah-Herman’s home invite Saturday. She took first in her weight class, going 3-0 with three first-period pins. The longest took just 51 seconds. Special mention goes to Annaleigh McLaughlin and Anna Rae Hartline for taking second and third, too.
Aidan Slominski, Blair basketball: The guard came off of the bench and delivered Saturday against Lincoln Northwest. He was a force on the boards and scored a game-high 18 points during the Bears’ Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) Tournament consolation game win. Special mention goes to Taytum Macholan, who scored 14 points in BHS’ EMC semifinals game.
Happy New Year. Have a good, safe time and check back here at enterprisepub.com/sports for all of the Washington County sports coverage you want as we forge on into 2025.
