The fall season’s last Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week feature is here.
The last athletes to be recognized are Kaylie Herman, Kade Foy and Andi Hume.
Please read on.
Kaylie Herman, Arlington volleyball: This senior capped her prep career against Douglas County West during subdistrict play. She did a little bit of everything against the Falcons, totaling 24 received serves with only one error, nine digs and three kills. Special mention goes to her fellow senior, Peyton Timm, who ended her career as a longtime contributor in the Eagles’ program, too.
Kade Foy, Fort Calhoun football: The Pioneers’ junior defensive back prevented two touchdowns against Central City, intercepting two passes into the end zone during the second quarter of the teams' Class C1 playoff game. The turnovers kept FCHS in the game as the Pioneers’ offense tried to close its deficit during the first-round defeat. Special mention goes to Emilee Thayer-Mencke, who led the Calhoun volleyball team with 25 overall kills during the Pioneers’ two-match postseason run.
Andi Hume, Blair volleyball: The junior was instrumental in the Bears’ subdistrict set win against the Bennington Badgers, notching kills and blocks. She finished tied for the team lead in kills during the match with seven, while totaling a team-best six blocks. Special mention goes to Hume’s teammate, Hailey Roewert, who finished with 23 assists and 21 digs in her final high school match.
