It was a winning week for Washington County’s high school track and field teams. The Arlington Eagles, Blair Bears and Fort Calhoun Pioneers won team races last week, while the latest Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week — Ely Olberding, Kaden Foust and Reese Beemer — won multiple individual events.
In short, we’ve got some gold medalists for you to read about.
Ely Olberding, Fort Calhoun track: The FCHS boys won the Douglas County Invite, and this senior won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. He clocked in at 4:44.81 and 10:26.97, respectively.
Kaden Foust, Arlington track: The Eagle helped his team win the Cadet-Tiger Invitational last week. He did so by winning the 400 dash (53.58 seconds) and the long jump (20 feet, 7 inches), and contributing to the 1,600 relay team’s victory in 3:40.99.
Reese Beemer, Blair track: The sprinter already held the Bears’ 200-meter dash record, but broke it again anyway. She won the Nebraska City Invitational race in 25.66, while also earning a 12.5-second victory in the 100.
