Washington County baseball teams stood out last week, securing wins, a record and a no-hitter.
The Blair Bears, Arlington Eagles and Fort Calhoun Pioneers also supplied me with three Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.
Trevor Denker, Arlington baseball: The senior Eagle set a new modern-day school record for hits in a season with his 70th last week, topping Braden Johnson’s mark. He is batting at a .500 average with 18 hits and 18 runs scored this season.
Carter Christensen, Fort Calhoun baseball: The Pioneer helped secure his team’s berth in the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament title game with an RBI and a double-play turn to end the game. He then reached base four times in a win against South Sioux City.
Dylan Swanson, Blair baseball: The left-handed pitcher no-hit Crete on Thursday, striking out 11 Cardinals. He threw just 85 pitches, including 58 strikes.
Congrats to these baseball standouts. Keep your eye on enterprisepub.com/sports for all of your Washington County High School sports coverage.
