Easton Chaffee was a fan of the weather at River Wilds Golf Club.
Connor Wayman was in good spirits, too.
“I'm feeling it today,” he said.
The Blair golf team opened its season with 193 strokes across nine holes Tuesday. Logan View, however, had fewer with medalist Kolton Kriete shooting the low score — 42 swings.
“The boys were a little disappointed but, for it being the first meet of this season, they did OK,” assistant BHS coach Rachel Brown said. “It's been tough not having a driving range to practice on, but the boys are resilient and were able to recover after some bad hits today.”
Chaffee, a senior, shot the Bears' low. He finished with 43 strokes, while Jackson Schroeder took 47 swings. Connor Wayman added 49, Tyler Lantry carded 54 and Sam Hicks had 63 for the varsity lineup.
“I believe that from here on out they will continue to work hard and improve their scores,” Brown said.
Blair is scheduled for its first tournament of the season Monday. The Ashland-Greenwood Invitational at Ashland Golf Club starts at 9 a.m.
