The Arlington High School baseball team took fourth out of five teams Saturday during the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament in Valley.
The Eagles (4-10 overall) won their opener a day earlier, but dropped back-to-back games to the host Douglas County West Falcons and Raymond Central Mustangs from there.
Down 7-0, coach Tyler Stender's AHS lineup earned its first run of the third-place game during the third inning. Tim Halley singled against the Mustangs and then scored on a wild pitch.
The run didn't change momentum much, though, as Raymond Central responded with five scores of its own during the next inning, and two more in the the top of the fifth frame.
AHS' Killian McIntosh, Luke Sharp and Tyler Ott added RBIs in the bottom half, but it didn't change the end result of the five-inning, run-rule loss.
The Eagles had been in contention for a championship game appearance earlier in the day, though. They played DC West even for three innings, but ultimately lost the semifinals matchup 9-3. The Falcons scored five runs during the fourth frame and three more in the fourth to take control.
Arlington, meanwhile, scored all three of its runs across the sixth and seventh innings. Andy Misfeldt knocked in two with a single before Sharp produced a sacrifice fly.
AHS started its NCC Tournament run Friday at home, though. It routed Louisville, too, 14-0.
“Yeah, all-around a pretty solid game,” Coach Stender said. “Defense played clean. Tyler pitched well.”
Ott through all five innings for the Eagles, striking out four batters and allowing just two hits and a single walk.
Offensively, McIntosh plated four runs, while Blaine Vogt totaled a team-best three hits. Ott had two hits, too, while both he and Luke Ott pushed across two runs apiece. Vogt and Luke Sharp notched RBIs as well.

Eagles go 0-2 April 10
The Eagles hosted a triangular on April 10, too, but went 0-2 with just seven combined hits.
First, Coach Stender's team lost a 6-0 game to Omaha Roncalli with four hits. Pitcher Jackson Stosich kept AHS in the game with five scoreless innings before the Pride notched a two-RBI double during the sixth frame.
Halley, Sharp, McIntosh and Tanner Kyllo, meanwhile, notched the Eagles' hits during the opener, which started at 2 p.m.
Arlington's nightcap against Elkhorn Mount Michael ended early, though. Stender said the Washington County Fairgrounds lights went out and cut the game short during the sixth frame.
The Eagles notched three hits and their only run of the day against the Knights. Vogt, Sharp and Tyler Ott logged hits, while McIntosh scored the run during the first inning.
Halley and Ott pitched against Mount Michael, too, combining for four strikeouts.
