Savanah Roan passed the ball to Hailey Roewert who set up Ellia Klanderud for the Blair volleyball team's first kill of Tuesday's home match against Class B No. 3 Norris.
Unfortunately for the Bears, though, the Titans still led the Eastern Midlands Conference (EMC) matchup 5-1 and won by three-set sweep. The road team improved to 20-4 with the 25-9, 25-11, 25-13 victory, while BHS dropped to 7-13.
Klanderud added her second kill of the first set to pull the Bears within 7-2 before Peyton Ogle's block made it 9-4. Taylor Mostek added a kill off of a Norris block down 15-7.
Roewert later notched a kill to pull Blair even in the second set, 3-3. The Titans outscored her team 22-8 from there, however, moving ahead 2-0.
Norris then used an 8-0 run to jump ahead 17-6 during the third set. Mostek notched a kill at 18-7 and Schuyler Roewert got an attack to fall to the court at 22-9, but the Bears' home effort still fell short. The match lasted less than an hour.
Coach Becca Mellema's squad was scheduled to face Omaha Gross on Thursday and next competes Saturday during the EMC Tournament at Waverly. BHS is 0-4 against conference competition this season.
