Carol and John Muell of Logan (right) receive a taste of the annual spring school program at the Harrison County Historical Village and Iowa Welcome Center Saturday, May 18, as Jim Noneman of Logan shares the importance of fur trapping for early explorers and pioneers. Noneman, who is pictured holding the harvested fur of a gray wolf, said he will mark 70 years as a fur trapper in 2013. He currently is the director of District 13 (Crawford, Harrison, Monona and Shelby Counties) for the Iowa Trappers Association (ITA) and was inducted into the ITA Hall of Fame in September of last year.
