The 2024 Washington County Gives 24-hour fundraising event to aid area non-profit organizations took in a record-breaking $204,758.

By every measure, it was a landmark year. With 800 unique donations, including from more than 600 individuals and many businesses, funds from the eighth-annual WCG — held on the same day as Giving Tuesday — will reach an historic 109 programs in the county.

“We are thrilled to see that kind of county and community support,” said Ryan Palmer, co-chair of the Washington County Gives committee. “Communities are only as strong as their people, and Washington County showed its strength and love of community in a big way on December 3rd.”

Sponsored by the Washington County Community Foundation, this year’s Washington County Gives received an estimated $120,000 from individuals, with donations ranging from $2 — two children donated profits from their lemonade stand — to $31,000.
