Tuesday high school golf events called off

Two Washington County high school golf teams were scheduled to play Tuesday, but neither actually did.
“Course was closed from the storm,” Arlington Eagles coach Jason Wiese said in an email.
AHS had been set to compete on its home course at Fremont Golf Club, while the Blair girls golf team was supposed to start its season at Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha. The Bears were supposed to play a Gretna tournament to begin the year, but it was called off early Tuesday morning.
“Can't believe we got all that rain,” BHS coach Ross Udey said in a text message. “Was ready to start the season.”
Instead, the Bears were scheduled to start Thursday back at Tiburon for an Omaha Skutt triangular.  Results for both events will appear in Tuesday's Washington County Pilot-Tribune.
