Basketball coaches Joe Unstad and Dave Warrick led the seventh- and eighth-grade Blair Bears into the 1979 season.
The Bears' junior high lineup was scheduled to play Arlington first on Nov. 20 before closing the year against Plattsmouth on Jan. 17, 1980. It faced Logan View, Millard North, Gretna, Millard Central, Elkhorn, Tekamah and Papillion in between.
Blair hoopers on the squad were Keith Gregerson, Bill Heise, Steve Hutton, Steve Johnson, Greg Kneifl, Gary Lambrecht, Joe Lane, Grant Matthies, Mike McKercher, Kent Nicholson, Scott Pavel, Phil Seevers, Jeff Smith and Brad Stender.
