With the ongoing increase of reported COVID-19 cases — primarily due to the Delta variant — the Three Rivers Public Health Department and Total Wellness have launched a new testing location in Fremont.

The testing site, located at 210 E. Military Ave., began operations Wednesday. Hours include 3-6 p.m. Friday, 8-11 a.m. Monday, and 3-6 p.m., Oct. 1.

“Testing is clearly an important tool in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and Methodist Fremont Health applauds Three Rivers Health Department for its leadership in increasing the availability of testing in Fremont and Dodge County, said Brett Richmond, president and CEO of Methodist Fremont Health.

“We are very thankful for our hospital partnerships and our healthcare heroes and as we continue through the pandemic it became apparent that we needed additional COVID-19 testing, so we brought it back into Fremont,” said Terra Uhing, executive director of Three Rivers Public Health Department.

There will be an option for antigen tests for those that are symptomatic, as well as PCR tests, and results will be available within a few hours of testing.

The new testing site will be a drive-through and appointments can be made at www.totalwellnesshealth.com/private/3rphd. If you do not have access to make an online appointment, you can show up at the location and still be tested. Insurance may be billed if available, but there will be no direct cost to any patient.

Testing in Washington County is available at Walgreens in Blair and at the Blair Clinic.

As of Wednesday, Washington County had 51 COVID-19 cases in the last week and 129 cases in the last two weeks.

The Three Rivers Public Health Department jurisdiction, which includes Dodge, Saunders and Washington counties, has had 164 cases in the last week and 361 in the last two weeks.
