Three arrested following high-speed chase

Three men were arrested following a high-speed chase that started in Blair and ended in Omaha.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office is pending charges for three men involved in the chase.

Capt. Aaron Brensel said there will also be charges filed in Douglas County.

On May 6 a little after noon, a Washington County investigator observed a grey Hyundai sedan traveling at a high rate of speed on 13th Street while traveling southbound toward U.S. Highway 75.

Deputies observed the vehicle traveling at 99 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.

Sirens were activated on the vehicle, and the driver began traveling in a reckless manner into Fort Calhoun while passing vehicles at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle soon crossed the county line into Douglas and State Patrol and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office was called to assist in the chase.

At one point on 48th and McKinley streets, the vehicle crossed a the median into oncoming traffic before correcting itself at 30th Street.

The chase came to a stop when the vehicle collided with the rear of an uninvolved vehicle, afterwards three men were seen exiting the car and running from the scene.

Omaha police assisted in helping locate and arrest the suspects.
