A man accused in the 2017 armed robbery of Two Rivers Bank in Arlington will face a jury trial next month after the proceeding was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Delonta McKnight is charged with bank robbery, taking U.S. currency by force; and brandishing a firearm. Charges were filed Nov. 15, 2018.

McKnight's trial in the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska was originally scheduled for Jan. 12. It is now set for Feb. 2.

If convicted, McKnight could face 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, three years supervised release and a $100 special assessment for the robbery. On May 8, 2017, two unidentified men entered the bank at Second and Eagle streets at about 8:30 a.m. One man was wearing a flesh-colored mask with a cutout at the mouth, a fedora-type dark colored hat, dark-rimmed sunglasses, a buttoned-up dark flannel jacket, dark brown gloves and dark pants.

The second robber was also wearing a flesh-colored mask, heavy clothing, flannel jacket and dark gloves. The masks made the men appear elderly.

According to the indictment, the men took cash and fled in a silver 1999 Nissan Maxima sedan, which was later found in the Bell Creek Park parking lot.

Law enforcement identified McKnight as one of the suspects after he was arrested as a suspect in the armed robbery of a jewelry store in Georgia.
